BLS Renewals Online: Fact or Fiction?
There are a lot of companies advertising quick and easy renewals for healthcare providers online. Unfortunately, many of them are not recognized by healthcare facilities and the student has wasted money and time on a card that is not valid, and a completely expired AHA card.
The American Heart Association does offer the option to renew a portion of the Healthcare Provider Certification online. It is an easy and convenient way to accomplish what can often be the most time consuming portion of the renewal. The didactic portion of the renewal process can be completed on-line at onlinetrainingplace.com. The American Heart Association charges $17.50 for this course, and upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate that must be printed out and taken to a certified AHA instructor for completion. The instructor will test the students hands-on skills with mannequins and upon successful completion, will issue a valid Healthcare Provider card.
There are many instructors and training centers that accept the online certificate and will assist the student in completing the renewal process. A current Healthcare Provider card is required as well, along with a fee for the instructor's services.
All Heart CPR welcomes online renewal certificates for individual and group renewals. You can also visit Friends With Class to find an instructor near you.
